Waves with Pomade
|
Waves with Pomade:
Place a
small amount of Pomade on the palm of your hand. Rub it around to get an even
small amount on the tips of the fingers of your working hand. Apply to (dry or
almost dry) hair forming the hair into waves. This forming process is done by
pinching the hair between the fingers and/or combing the hair in alternating
directions to make a wave shape. The pomade is applied to the hair to encourage
the wave, help hold your hair its shape, and to add shine to the hair.
A pomade is traditionally a "semi-solid hair-styling product"; including waxes,
glues, clays, and a variety of substances that are usually thick in consistency.
The "heavy-ness or thickness" of the product is controlled by placing a
small amount in the palm of the hand and rubbing with your fingertip to reduce
the amount carried to and applied onto the hair. Pomades are usually thick
enough that a little bit goes a long way. Reducing the amount of product
on the finger tips before applying to your hair give you the control and allows
you to form your hair, to make waves, without leaving your hair greasy looking
or "pasted down."
